Committee Descriptions
Each family must sign up for at least one of the following committees. Please select your committee preferences on the registration form.
Musical Presentation Selection
- Committee members will interview and audition any students or groups of students who are interested in performing on graduation day and select those who will perform at the ceremony. (If your graduate plans to audition, you will not be able to participate in the selection process.).
- Chairperson and members will oversee practice and progress of musicians from January through May
Speaker Selection
- Committee members will interview and audition any students or groups of students who are interested in performing on graduation day and select those who will speak at the ceremony. (If your graduate plans to audition, you will not be able to participate in the selection process.).
- Chairperson and members will oversee practice and progress of speakers from January through May
Ceremony Program Preparation
- Oversee collection of student “bios” and photos for use in the program.
- Assist in designing program and oversee final production/assembly of programs.
Student Video Production
- Committee will collect, approve & organize all photos of seniors to be used in the final video.
- Committee will oversee video shooting sessions of all students and coach students in their presentations.
Photography
- Committee will assist with family and ceremony package shooting on graduation day and work directly with the photographer to expedite process
Student Senior Scrapbook
- Committee will collect wallet size photos of each participating senior along with a sample of each senior’s announcement.
- Committee will place and organize above into a Creative Memories scrapbook for display on graduation day.
- Committee will be in charge of making a display in the foyer for graduation day using the scrapbooks, balloon bouquets, etc.
Set Up
- Committee will be available on rehearsal night and arrive early on graduation day to assist in set up of all required items to conduct the rehearsal and ceremony as well as helping prepare Central Court for reception
Clean Up
- Committee will inspect the Worship Center and Central Court at the conclusion of the rehearsal and ceremony and assist in any clean up or putting away of equipment.
Worship Center Decorations
- Committee will help decide how Worship Center will be decorated for the ceremony.
- Committee will decorate the Worship Center before rehearsal and make sure decorations are still in place on graduation day.
- Committee will remove decorations and return all to proper places at the end of the ceremony.
Student Social
- Plan several times for graduates and families to socialize over the course of the year.
Hospitality
- Planning and arranging for snacks before the January meeting for all of the graduates and their parents and to supervise an ice cream social on the night of the rehearsal.
Usher
- Direct student ushers in duties on rehearsal night and graduation day. Assist in lining up parents and graduates for Processional.
Reception Planning
- Make decisions re: decorations and refreshments for group reception.
- Purchase all supplies, oversee decorating on graduation day.
Post-Graduation Tasks
- Oversee mailing of photos and DVDs to families.
- Manage lost-and-found items.
Cap and Gown
- Committee will help with final order of cap and gowns to Jostens
- Committee will organize cap and gown order for distribution to individual graduates.
- Committee will oversee distribution of caps and gowns to graduates prior to graduation.
