2009 Graduation Committee Descriptions
Each family must sign up for at least one of the following committees. Please select your committee preferences on the registration form.
Student Presentation Selection
• Committee members will interview and audition any students or groups of students who are interested in performing on graduation day and select those who will perform at the ceremony.
• This may include music, drama, dance, speech…
• Note: If your graduate plans to audition, you will not be able to participate in the selection process.
• Chairperson and members will oversee practice and progress of presentations from January through May
Ceremony Program Preparation
• Oversee collection of student biographies and photos for use in the program.
• Assist in designing program and oversee final production/assembly of programs.
Student Video Production
• Committee will collect, approve and organize all photos of seniors to be used in the final video.
• Committee will oversee video shooting sessions of all students and coach students in their presentations.
Student Social
• Plan several times for graduates and families to socialize over the course of the year.
Scrapbook Committee
• Gather senior photo and announcement for each graduate
• Create a Creative Memories style scrapbook(s), to be completed before rehearsal night.
• Set up scrapbook display of current and all prior scrapbooks in the foyer on graduation day
• Following the ceremony, create additional pages to display ceremony photos (to be completed before the TPA Convention)
Photography Committee
Members of this committee are assistants to the official photographer employed for the ceremony. Your duties include:
• Arrive at Central Christian early on graduation day
• Locate and assist in lining up students, families and other groups for the photos
Set Up Committee
• Committee will arrive early on graduation day
• Assist in set up of Central Court for reception, primarily lighting strands and garland on canopy
• Help set up Hospitality Room for parents and graduates to congregate
Hospitality
• Planning and arranging for snacks before the January meeting for all of the graduates and their parents and to supervise an ice cream social on the night of the rehearsal.
Cap and Gown Committee
• Committee will meet to separate cap and gown order (caps, gowns, tassels, honor cords, diplomas, etc.) for distribution to individual graduates.
• Committee will oversee distribution of these items to graduates
Worship Center Decorations Committee
• Committee will decorate the Worship Center from 4:00-6:00 on day of rehearsal.
• Committee will remove decorations and return all to storage at the end of the ceremony.
Reception Planning Committee
• Committee will decide on room set up, decorations and refreshments for the graduation reception
• Responsible to make the purchases for decorations, most paper goods and food (funded through the Graduation Budget)
• Committee will decorate and prepare reception room on Saturday morning before the ceremony
Clean Up Committee
• Clean Up Worship Center, Hospitality Room and Central Court
• Requires remaining until after Reception is over
• Collect any Lost and Found items from the Worship Center, Main Foyer, Hospitality Room, Central Court
• Note: Central Christian maintenance personnel take care of cleaning the floors, removing trash and taking down tables and chairs in both Hospitality Room and Central Court
Post-Graduation Committee
• Committee will meet in late May or early June to assemble photograph packages and prepare for mailing.
• Mail Student and Ceremony DVDs and photograph packages.
• Responsible to notify graduates and families of any lost and found items and coordinate their return.
